July 2 : Mumbai The Pink Foundry, India’s pharmacist-founded, pharma-grade skincare brand, has launched the Melt to Foam Cleansing Balm, India’s first foaming cleansing balm, powered with the proprietary Melt to Foam technology. A category-first innovation for Indian skincare, it seamlessly transitions from a buttery balm to a milky soft foam cleanser, eliminating the need for double cleansing. For years, a proper cleansing routine has meant two steps: an oil-based cleanser to break down SPF and makeup, followed by a water-based face wash to rinse it all away. It is a routine that works, but one that demands two products, two formulations, and twice the effort. The Pink Foundry’s Melt to Foam™ Cleansing Balm changes that entirely.
Formulated specifically for Indian skin and the demands of the Indian climate, the balm addresses a gap that has long gone unmet in the category. Indian skin contends with high UV intensity, monsoon humidity, and significant pollution exposure, conditions that make thorough cleansing not just a preference but a daily necessity. The Melt to Foam™ Cleansing Balm was developed ground-up with these realities in mind, not adapted from Western formulations.
The balm applies to dry skin and melts on contact, dissolving waterproof makeup, SPF, and environmental buildup at the first touch. Add water, and the formula transforms into a milky soft foam that lifts and rinses clean, with no oily residue left behind. One product, one step, and the work of a complete double cleanse. It is formulated with only 13 ingredients, which includes five skin loving actives. Clinically tested to remove 100% makeup, ophthalmologically tested, sensitive skin tested and non comedogenic it is suitable for all skin types.
Commenting on the launch, Niloni Shah, Founder of The Pink Foundry, said:
“The cleansing balm category in India has had a real problem: effective at removing makeup, but almost always at the cost of leaving skin feeling greasy or congested. We spent three years and went through over 30+ formula iterations because we refused to compromise on efficacy and quality. To our knowledge, no brand in India has brought a true balm-to-foam transformation to market before this, and that distinction is something we take pride in, as we have completely cracked it inhouse end-to-end.. The Melt to Foam™ technology is a formulation outcome, not a marketing concept. When water meets the balm, it genuinely transforms into a milky soft foam that lifts everything off very well. . No second cleanser needed, no trade-off. Built on our philosophy of science and skin health, we didn’t stop at creating a breakthrough texture transformation. We clinically validated its performance with 100% makeup removal and further assessed its safety through ophthalmological testing, sensitive skin testing, and non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic evaluations “
The launch also addresses a broader gap in consumer awareness around cleansing. Internal studies indicate that 51% of SPF users are unaware that sunscreen requires an oil-based first cleanse to be properly removed from the skin. With daily SPF use on the rise across urban India, the Melt to Foam™ Cleansing Balm positions itself as the most practical answer to a problem most consumers did not know they had.
