June 28, 2025: SVKM’s NMIMS School of Business Management, Bengaluru, proudly hosted the inauguration program of the XVI MBA Batch. The inauguration was marked with inspiring ceremonies for the upcoming batch of 2025 – 2027. This event marked the commencement of a new academic journey for a dynamic bunch of students who will become the managers of tomorrow.

The inauguration ceremonies for the MBA Batch XVI began with the traditional Deeksharambham. The session featured Ms. Sandhya Sriram, Group CFO at Narayana Health and a celebrated leader with accolades including All India Rank-holder Chartered Accountant, Economic Times Young Leader, and Asia’s 100 Power Leader in Finance. She delivered an insightful talk on ethical leadership, financial strategy, and purpose-driven excellence. Alumnus Mr. Anirudh Sridharan, Co-founder of HashFame, reflected on how NMIMS shaped his entrepreneurial journey and urged students to embrace bold innovation.

The gathering was graced by Mr. Chella Pandian Pitchai, Global Head – DEI, Culture & Values at Biocon Biologics, a TEDx speaker and Gen Z mentor, who spoke on inclusive leadership and building values-driven cultures. Alumnus Mr. Ankush Rawat, Director of Customer Success & Marketing at Zikhara AI, shared how the institute played a pivotal role in developing his strategic thinking and navigating high-growth industries.

The proceedings included inspiring addresses by Dr. Narayani Ramachandran, Campus Director, and Dr. Mallika Srivastava, Program Chairperson. Dr. Narayani R, addressed the MBA Batch 16 with a powerful message on responsible leadership and led the students in taking the Sustainability Oath. Emphasizing the importance of values-driven growth, she stated, “Sustainability begins with a promise — to lead with purpose, not just profit.” Following her address, Dr. Mallika S , presented the annual report and reflected on the cohort’s achievements. In her inspiring speech, she remarked, “Leadership is not just about ambition, but about aligning vision with values.”

The MBA Batch 16 at NMIMS Bengaluru consists of females about 58.0% and males 42.0%, reflecting a strong gender diversity. In terms of professional background, 72.3% of the students are freshers, while 27.7% bring in prior work experience, contributing a valuable mix of new and experienced perspectives to the cohort.

Regarding academic backgrounds, Commerce graduates form the largest group at 60.1%, followed by Engineering at 13.4%, Arts at 7.6%, Others at 15.3%, Accounting at 1.7%, Masters degree holders at 1.4% and Dentistry at 0.5%. This rich blend of disciplines not only highlights the multidisciplinary nature of the program but also ensures a dynamic learning environment fueled by diverse viewpoints.

The orientation program, held from 2nd June 2025 to 10th June 2025, featured a series of impactful sessions designed to shape socially conscious and future-ready leaders. The week included thought-provoking discussions on global strategy in a deglobalizing world, the evolving role of generative AI, and ESG as a redefined metric for business success. The We Care Civic Engagement Internship showcased student-led social innovation, while sessions on AI-driven marketing and an Alumni Panel on building value-driven careers offered actionable insights for aspiring professionals. The orientation was further enriched by a strong industry interface, with experts from major companies engaging directly with students to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world business challenges.
