Ariel University welcomes the decision of the Council for Higher Education (CHE) to approve the establishment of a six-year medical program and a Physician Associate program at Ariel University. Both programs will open in the coming academic year.
The Physician Associate program is being introduced for the first time in Israel and represents a significant development for medical teams and the healthcare system.
These programs join the extensive activities of the Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson School of Medicine at Ariel University, where a four-year program for training physicians, intended for graduates of scientific bachelor’s degrees, has been operating successfully since 2019.
Since its establishment, the Adelson School of Medicine at Ariel University has become an integral part of Israel’s higher education and medical landscape and has graduated two outstanding cohorts whose members are entering the healthcare system.
Dr. Maya Lugasi Ben Hamo, Director General of the Council for Higher Education, said:
“The shortage of physicians is one of the significant challenges facing Israel’s healthcare system. The opening of the program will make it possible to increase the number of medical students and add dozens of physicians to the healthcare system in each cohort.”
Prof. Ehud Grossman, President of Ariel University, said:
