ShopClues rejoice

24th January 2024: With the onset of 2024, ShopClues celebrates its 13th anniversary on January 26, 2024. The brand started its journey in 2011 with its launch on Facebook with a team of 5 members. Currently, the team has 300+ employees and continues to grow.

ShopClues revolutionized the bazaars of India and received 100 million monthly visits, with 10+ lakhs merchants, 100 Million SKUs, and delivering to 40000 pincodes in India. It brought together the concept of India’s first online wholesale marketplace, receiving the largest merchant base in e-commerce shopping in 2017. The brand has its own merchandising properties such as Sunday Flea Market, Refreshing Monday sale, Wednesday Brand Bazaar, and Triple Value Friday.

The brand received many accolades and was selected as a super startup in 2017 by Superbrands India. Radhika Ghai was awarded the ASSOCHAM Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2017. She was also awarded the First Ladies Award in 2018 for being the first lady in the Indian e-commerce ecosystem to run a Unicorn company. President Shri Ram Nath Kovind presented the award, instituted by the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

In November 2019, The Clues Network, the holding company of ShopClues, merged with Qoo10, a leading e-commerce platform from Singapore. Qoo10.com is a leading e-commerce platform, catering to customers and sellers worldwide. Currently, the parent firm will invest Rs 165 crore to speed up cross-border e-commerce. It will target Asian markets like Singapore, Korea, and Japan, and sell products from the Indian market through the e-commerce route there. ShopClues is now changing its positioning and rebranding itself as a cross-border e-commerce platform from a value-based domestic e-commerce player. They will now be taking Indian products to the Asian markets.

Celebrating the milestone, Mr. Anuraag Gambhir, MD ShopClues, said, “We are ecstatic and overjoyed on reaching this landmark. It has been a tremendous journey of growth and learning. We started our ride as an online bazaar for people to shop, and today our focus is on cross-border trade targeting international countries. I am thankful to everyone who has contributed to making ShopClues what it is today and looking forward to celebrating more milestones together.

ShopClues also plans to bring international brands to India. The orders are serviced through Qxpress, the logistic arm of Qoo10. The Ayodhya Development Authority recently onboarded ShopClues as its technology partner to manage and develop a Tourism Centric Platform for Ayodhya. ShopClues is also in talks with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, etc. to take part and promote e-commerce exports from the country.
