India Lovely Professional University (LPU) has secured an impressive ranking, outperforming 10 IITs, 4 IIMs, and 1 IIIT to emerge as the top-ranked Indian institution according to the prestigious SCImago Institutions Rankings 2024. This remarkable achievement is a testament to LPU’s steadfast commitment to academic excellence, impactful research, and innovative contributions.

LPU has now surpassed 10 IITs, including IIT Hyderabad (33), IIT Varanasi (44), IIT Indore (52), IIT Mandi (106), IIM Ahmedabad (118), IIM Bangalore (208), IIM Lucknow (257), IIM Indore (266) and many other government and private institutions in India. LPU has been ranked 1413th globally, 26th nationally, and 7th among private universities in India.

The SCImago Institutions Rankings evaluate universities and research institutions based on their research performance, innovation outputs, and societal impact measured through web visibility. LPU has secured top positions in several crucial domains. In the business, management, and accounting areas, LPU stands in the top 8 in India. In computer science and engineering the university secured 21st rank, earth and planetary sciences 23rd, mathematics and pharmacology, toxicology and pharmaceutics 25th, and in chemistry 30th in India.

Indian Institute of Science has topped this ranking table in India, and all Indian institutes of medical science are in second place.
