Climate Innovation Challenge: A Catalyst for Scalable Solutions;

Led by the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) as Innovation Challenge Partner, the programme aims to identify and propel breakthrough solutions in mitigation, adaptation, and climate resilience. The Challenge invites startups, students, researchers, NGOs, CSOs, innovators, and climate entrepreneurs from India and participating Global South countries to refine and showcase high-impact ideas. Final presentations will be made live at MCW 2026.

With participation from countries across the Global South, the initiative positions MCW as one of India’s most influential climate solution platforms at a global scale.

A Broad Alliance of Climate Stakeholders;

MCW brings together leading global and Indian institutions including:
Government of Maharashtra, Majhi Vasundhara, BMC, Monitor Deloitte, HT Parekh Foundation, India Climate Collaborative (ICC), Shakti Foundation, WRI India, UNICEF, Rainmatter Foundation, Mahindra Group, Climate Group, NGMA, and other prominent climate networks, funders, policy institutions, and civil society organisations.

MCW is designed as a citizen-led movement, integrating actionable solutions across Mumbai — from discussions on the Mumbai Climate Action Plan to conversations on cinema, food, arts, sports, healthcare and climate. NSS volunteers from colleges will also contribute to the action programme.

Leadership Speak;

Shishir Joshi, Founder & CEO, Project Mumbai, said:
“Mumbai Climate Week is committed to building platforms that turn ideas into action. Our partnership with NSE strengthens our ability to propel solutions that help cities adapt, innovate and build resilience. By bringing together innovators, investors, experts and policymakers under one umbrella, we aim to unlock pathways for real climate impact across the region.”

Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD & CEO, NSE said;
“Mumbai Climate Week comes at a defining point in India’s journey toward Net Zero by 2070 — a vision that will require over USD 10 trillion in climate finance. NSE is catalysing this transition through instruments such as Monthly Electricity Futures, GSS+ and Transition Bonds, Green Equity Pathway, CFD and the Carbon Market. Through MCW, we reinforce our commitment to enabling transparent, accessible and impactful sustainable finance.”

A Pipeline for Deployable Climate Solutions;

The multi-stage Challenge includes capacity-building sessions, masterclasses, technical mentoring, jury evaluations, and a high-energy Investor Speed-Seeding Forum on Day 3, enabling direct engagement with capital providers.

Finalists will be showcased at the MCW Solutions Exhibition Arena, offering visibility before policymakers, industry leaders, philanthropies and global climate networks — along with opportunities for pilots, partnerships and MoUs facilitated by MCW ecosystem partners.

This integrated structure ensures that promising innovations move beyond ideation and are positioned for real-world deployment and scale.
