Bengaluru, September 30, 2024: Cloudnine, India’s premier birthing center and leading mother and childcare hospital recently conducted impactful simulation workshops on Advanced Life Support in obstetrics, neonatal care, and fetal medicine to ensure ZERO errors. These workshops were part of their annual “Cool Topics in Perinatology” conference. Obstetricians, neonatologists, anesthetists, fetal medicine specialists, and fertility specialists from across the country within and outside of Cloudnine gathered to deliberate and discuss strategies for improving services and the quality of care to achieve the best outcomes for both mother and baby. On the first day of the conference, 11 workshops were held, focusing on labor management, normal deliveries and unexpected complications, C-section techniques, and fetal medicine procedures. These sessions were uniquely designed to foster collaboration among clinicians and enhance training through real-time scenarios.

Participants from across the country reported that the hands-on training significantly improved their preparedness to handle critical situations in daily practice. These workshops were open to doctors and healthcare professionals nationwide, with a focus on aligning with public health trends and emphasizing the importance of enhanced maternal and neonatal care. By improving clinician skills, these initiatives play a crucial role in reducing maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality rates, striving to achieve zero errors.

Workshop Highlights:

  1. Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics and Gynecology: Hands-on training in critical simulated emergencies using realistic scenarios, emphasizing teamwork in high-pressure situations.
  2. Fetal Medicine: Interactive sessions with ultrasound training, allowing participants to apply theoretical knowledge in simulated clinical settings and learn tricks of needle handling and intricacies of fetal treatment in utero(womb)
  3. Simulation Training in Labor: Immersive exercises mimicking real-life labor scenarios, boosting confidence and preparedness for unpredictable challenges.
  4. Neonatology Simulation Program: Case-based learning and hands-on practice in managing neonatal emergencies, guided by experienced pediatricians.

Dr. R. Kishore Kumar, Founder Chairman, Pediatrician and Neonatologist at Cloudnine Group of Hospitals, stated, “Our commitment to training empowers all doctors with the skills they need to provide the best care for mothers and infants. This initiative not only boosts their confidence but also enhances teamwork in high-pressure environments. More than 400 clinicians were left with enhanced skills in emergency management, improved teamwork strategies, and a deeper understanding of current best practices in obstetrics and neonatology. The hands-on training emphasized the importance of practical experience in building confidence and competence. The involvement of the industry underscores a commitment to continuous learning and collaboration, fostering a culture of excellence in maternal and child healthcare”.
