Indian youth today are increasingly turning to bhajans, but not in the slow, traditional form many of us grew up with. They want devotion they can feel, not just hear. High-energy, remix versions of spiritual songs are allowing them to connect consistently with faith in a way that fits their modern lives.

“Young people today are drawn to bhajans that have rhythm, energy, and life,” says Abhijeet Ghoshal. “They want to experience devotion, not just sing along. When the music moves them physically, emotionally, and spiritually, it becomes part of their daily rhythm.”
This is precisely the idea behind his latest release, Clubmix Hanuman Chalisa. Versatile singer Abhijeet Ghoshal, who hails from Prayajraj and a 11-time Sa Re Ga Ma Pa winner, has reimagined one of India’s most beloved chants with a contemporary, superfast rhythm while keeping the devotional essence intact.
“Hanuman Chalisa has always been close to my heart,” he says. “I wanted to create a version that honors the faith, but also speaks to a younger audience who live in a world of movement, energy, and constant engagement.”
Clubmix Hanuman Chalisa blends traditional melodies with electronic beats, dynamic tempos, and modern production techniques. While clubmixes are usually associated with dance floors, Ghoshal sees them as a way to make spiritual songs more immersive and accessible.
“Consistency builds connection, not just one intense moment,” he explains. “When young people can engage with a bhajan every day, through rhythm and energy that excites them, the spiritual practice becomes part of their life naturally, like a daily habit. Devotion does not have to be quiet to be powerful.”
With this release, every beat and melody amplifies faith while inviting listeners to move, meditate, and experience the chant in a fresh way. The track brings together Jeson Malu on music, Ajay Kumar Singh handling dubbing, mixing, and mastering at Swarit Studio, and traditional lyrics by Goswami Tulsidas Ji from Shri Ram Charit Manas. Ghoshal arranged, composed, and lent his vocals to the track, ensuring that innovation and tradition coexist seamlessly.
“This is more than music,” Ghoshal adds. “It is an experience where rhythm meets devotion, energy meets faith, and listeners can truly feel the power of the chant. Spirituality and dynamism can dance together and that is exactly what this track is meant to do.”
The lyrics are drawn from Goswami Tulsidas Ji’s Shri Ram Charit Manas, with composition and vocals by Abhijeet Ghoshal, music by Jeson Malu, and dubbing, mixing, and mastering by Ajay Kumar Singh at Swarit Studio, Mumbai. Together, they have created a rendition where faith meets rhythm, energy meets emotion, and bhakti comes alive on the dance floor.
