Dec 11:-  Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology Patiala, a leading institution in engineering education and research, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and partnered with Bajaj Auto Ltd.to establish a Bajaj Engineering Skill Training (BEST) Centre on campus. BEST is the flagship CSR initiative of Bajaj Auto Ltd. that aims to train engineers in contemporary and evolving technologies. The state-of-art labs at the centre shall be set-up with INR 15 Crores support from Bajaj Auto’s CSR.
Patiala, 10th December 2025: Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (TIET), Patiala, a leading institution in engineering education and research, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and partnered with Bajaj Auto Ltd.to establish a Bajaj Engineering Skill Training (BEST) Centre on campus. BEST is the flagship CSR initiative of Bajaj Auto Ltd. that aims to train engineers in contemporary and evolving technologies. The MoU was signed by Prof. Padmakumar Nair (Vice Chancellor, TIET), in the presence of Sh. Gautam Thapar, President, TIET, Dr. R.R. Vederah (Chancellor, TIET), Prof. Ajay Batish (Pro VC, TIET) and representatives from Bajaj Auto Ltd., Mr Sudhakar Gudipati, VP, CSR and Vidhyaa Lakshmi S, marking a major milestone in industry–academia collaboration.
As part of TIET’s commitment to fostering industry-aligned skill development, the institute is earmarking a 20,000 sq. ft. dedicated lab space to support the implementation of Verticals 1 and 2 of the BEST program. These verticals will primarily focus on Mechatronics, Robotics C Automation, Industry 4.0, and Smart Manufacturing.
The program is envisioned to be integrated into the curriculum of TIET’s flagship programs—B.E. Mechanical Engineering, B.E. Mechatronics, and B.E. Robotics and AI—ensuring that students receive hands-on training with advanced, world-class infrastructure curriculum designed by senior leaders and expert engineers of Bajaj Auto and joint certification from TIET and Bajaj Auto Ltd.
The partnership aims to skill and empower engineering graduates with next-generation competencies, bridging the gap between academic foundations and rapidly evolving industry demands.
TIET’s leadership expressed that this collaboration will position the institute as a national hub for advanced manufacturing and robotics education, aligning with India’s broader vision for skill development and future-ready engineering talent.
Bajaj Auto Ltd. reaffirmed its long-term commitment to advancing technical education and creating skilled resources through the BEST initiative, highlighting the importance of creating transformative learning ecosystems through high-impact CSR interventions.
