CENTA and L&T EduTech Launch STEM & Future Tech Programme for High School Students in 4 Cities

India, Feb 27: Centre for Teacher Accreditation (CENTA) Pvt. Ltd., the world’s largest platform for teacher certification and professional development, has today announced its partnership with L&T EduTech, a digitally-driven learning initiative by the Larsen & Toubro Group, to launch an innovation and future technologies immersion programme, with phase 1 being for about 3000 high school students across Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, in collaboration with 100 schools. This also feeds into India’s strong focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) towards global leadership.

The programme brings together CENTA’s strength in K–12 education and its network of trained, CENTA-certified teachers with L&T EduTech’s deep industry and technology expertise. CENTA’s network spans 2 million teachers across 100,000+ schools and 10,000+ locations in India, with a growing presence in the Middle East, Africa, and South East Asia.  As India’s leading platform for teacher certification and professional development, CENTA will anchor the programme’s teaching and delivery, ensuring strong classroom execution by professionally prepared teachers, while L&T’s industry and technology leadership will ensure orientation towards workplaces of the future. Through this collaboration, L&T EduTech, which has built a strong footprint in higher education through industry-facing skill development for graduates, will be extending its industry-oriented learning approach into the school education space.

“If students are to develop strong problem-solving abilities, STEM education needs to move well beyond concepts and definitions and into real-world application. Through this programme, done as a partnership between L&T EduTech and CENTA, students will learn design thinking and future technologies, including AI and robotics, while addressing real-life industry-linked challenges through L&T Edutech’s support. Our focus is on helping students think critically, work collaboratively, and build confidence in applying technology to solve problems they can relate to,” said Ramya Venkataraman, Founder & CEO of CENTA.

The 20-hour immersion programme, structured as 10 sessions of two hours each with full flexibility for schools to schedule as per their choice, is designed to expose high school students to critical skills in areas such as design thinking, artificial intelligence, robotics, and coding. These topics will be explored while building a solution for a real problem, offering students a glimpse into how such skills apply in practical, workplace contexts. In addition to technical learning, the course also includes a focus on interpersonal skills and collaborative problem-solving, competencies that are increasingly essential in today’s team-oriented work environments.

“At L&T EduTech, we believe the future belongs to creators and problem-solvers. In collaboration with CENTA, we are delivering a STEM experience that blends strong pedagogy with real industry insight. This initiative goes beyond conventional learning. It creates a space where young minds can experiment, build, and translate theory into real-world application alongside practitioners. By providing early exposure to emerging technologies and innovation-led thinking, we aim to help students see possibilities beyond the classroom and connect their learning to meaningful career pathways. We are confident that this program will inspire curiosity, build capability, and nurture the next generation of innovators”, said Febin M.F., Head of L&T EduTech.

Schools have the flexibility to schedule the programme based on their needs. It can be delivered as a summer offering, as an after-school enrichment programme, or even during regular school hours. . This adaptable format will ensure that schools can integrate the programme into their academic calendars with ease.

At the end of the course, student teams will present projects built around real-world problems, with top performers recognised through awards and certificates. With the pilot launching in four cities and plans for expansion, the programme reflects a growing emphasis on strengthening STEM education by helping students apply concepts in practical, industry-linked contexts. For CENTA, the initiative highlights the importance of well-prepared teachers in making STEM learning accessible and relevant, while furthering its mission of professionalising teaching in India.
