New Delhi, Aug 21: India is strengthening its position as an attractive destination for global investment, with Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal highlighting the country’s strong economic fundamentals, ongoing reforms and expanding opportunities across key sectors.

During his visit to Singapore, Goyal held discussions with senior business leaders and global investors on strengthening investment partnerships and expanding economic cooperation between India and Singapore.

The minister met Temasek Holdings CEO Dilhan Sandrasegara and discussed ways to deepen investment linkages and encourage greater participation in India’s growth journey. He also engaged with Singapore Business Federation Chairman Mark Lee on expanding business-to-business cooperation and creating new opportunities for companies in both countries.

Goyal also held discussions with leaders from the healthcare and infrastructure sectors, including Fortis Healthcare Chairman Leo Puri, IHH Healthcare Group CEO Dr Prem Nair and Turner & Townsend Managing Director for Asia Pacific Brian Shuptrine. India’s growing healthcare ecosystem, expanding infrastructure and investment-led development are creating opportunities for international companies looking to establish long-term partnerships in the country.

The minister’s engagements also underline the importance of stronger links between businesses and investors as India seeks to expand trade, attract capital and deepen its integration with global markets.

Singapore remains an important economic partner for India.
