Canara Bank Observes ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’, Reinforcing Commitment to a Drug-Free India

Bengaluru, June 19: Canara Bank is observing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan from June 17 to June 26, 2026, a nationwide awareness campaign led by the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment (DoSJE), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, the nodal department for Drug Demand Reduction in the country.

Through its participation, Canara Bank is reinforcing its commitment towards social responsibility and the well-being of the community. The movement aims to spread awareness regarding the ill effects of drug abuse and build a healthy society that is free from drug abuse. The campaign underscores the importance of collective action in addressing the social and public health challenges posed by drug abuse, particularly among the youth.

The campaign is being observed this year under the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Viksit Bharat Ki Pehchan”, which emphasizes the critical importance of a drug-free society in achieving the vision of a developed and empowered India.

As a responsible public sector bank, Canara Bank aligns with the national efforts that promote social well-being, community development, and citizen empowerment. During the observance period, the Bank will conduct awareness campaigns within its offices and branches regarding the importance of a drug-free society and how citizens can contribute to making the country a healthier place to live in.
