Leh, Feb 04: Anwar Hussain of Purig Warriors set a new benchmark for the fastest goal in Royal Enfield Ice Hockey League (REIHL) Season 3, scoring just four seconds into the match at the Nawang Dorjay Stobdan (NDS) Stadium, Leh. The League is being organised in partnership with the UT Administration of Ladakh and the Ice Hockey Association of Ladakh.

Anwar’s strike eclipsed the previous Season 3 record of nine seconds set by Stanzin Phuntsog against Maryul Spawo on Day 3, which itself had broken the Season 2 record of 15 seconds. Day 6 also saw victories for Shakar Chiktan Royals, Zanskar Chadar Tamers and Humas Warriors, with the latter posting the highest score of the day.

Shakar Chiktan Royals opened proceedings with a commanding 6–3 win over United Nubra. Altaf Hussain and Ashiq Hussain struck twice each, scoring the opening and closing goals, while Tayief Ali and Villayat Ali added neat tap-ins to complete the Royals’ six-goal haul. United Nubra responded late in the third period through Padma Mingyur’s wrist-flick and tap-in, along with Rigzin Norboo’s strike, but the surge came too late to change the outcome.

Zanskar Chadar Tamers followed with a dominant 7–2 victory over Maryul Spawo. Jigmath led the charge with four goals, including the opener and the final strike. Rinchen Wangyal added two—one via a drag shot and another with a slapshot—while Tsering Sangay also found the net with a wrist shot. Maryul Spawo briefly fought back through Stanzin Stanba and Asif Ali, but the Tamers quickly regained control.

Purig Warriors defeated Kharu Falcons 4–2, powered by Anwar Hussain’s record-breaking opener and a late second goal to seal the match. Sajjad Jr and captain Sajjad Hussain also scored for Purig. Kharu Falcons responded through Jigmet Choster’s early and late tap-ins but were unable to close the gap.

Humas Warriors closed the day in emphatic fashion with a 9–2 win over Changla Blasters, registering the highest score of the day. Waseem Bilal starred with four goals, including a powerful slapshot and three tap-ins. Mohd Issa netted twice, while Mohd Ibrahim, Rashid Hassanain and captain Moheb Ur Rehman Mir added one each. For Changla Blasters, Angchok Dorjey scored the early equaliser and Stanzin Mingyur added a late tap-in.

Day 7 of the League (February 4, 2026) will begin with Kangs Sing taking on Purig Warriors, followed by Kharu Falcons versus United Nubra. The women’s fixture between Changla Lamos and Shakar Chiktan Queens comes next, ahead of Changla Blasters versus Maryul Spawo. The day concludes with a marquee clash between Zanskar Chadar Tamers and Shakar Chiktan Royals.

The Royal Enfield Ice Hockey League continues to generate strong engagement both on and off the ice, reinforcing its role as a premier competitive platform and a vibrant community spectacle during Ladakh’s winter season.
