As the sun rises over Udaipur’s timeless lakes and ghats, the Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival (VUWMF) returns this February with more than just music it returns with a story ten years in the making. Celebrating a decade of bringing the world together through sound, the festival marks a milestone built on a simple yet powerful belief: music connects us all.

Supported by Hindustan Zinc and conceptualised by SEHER in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, the festival will be held from 6th to 8th February 2026 in Zinc City, Udaipur. Over three immersive days, audiences will be invited to experience music not just as entertainment, but as a shared emotion one that transcends borders, languages, and cultures.
At its core, the Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival has always been about bridges—bringing global music traditions to Indian audiences while also reviving and celebrating the forgotten instruments and indigenous sounds of Rajasthan. Staying true to this vision, VUWMF remains the only music festival in India curated around the three natural moods of the day, offering a thoughtfully designed journey from dawn to nightfall.
The 10th edition of the festival will feature 20 bands from over 10 countries, presenting a vibrant mix of folk, indigenous, classical, and contemporary global sounds. Each performance is a reminder of the diversity of the world—and the shared humanity that binds us.
The festival unfolds across three iconic venues, each reflecting a unique musical mood.
-
Mornings at Manji Ka Ghat will be dedicated to meditative and introspective performances, blending music with calm waters and serene surroundings to nurture mental well-being.
-
Afternoons at Fateh Sagar Paal will embrace romance and emotion, with soulful melodies and lyrical storytelling unfolding beside the lake.
-
Evenings at Gandhi Ground will come alive with energetic, contemporary, and pop-infused performances, transforming the space into a vibrant celebration of rhythm, movement, and collective joy.
Reflecting on the festival’s ten-year journey, Sanjeev Bhargava, Founder, SEHER, shared,
“Completing ten years of the Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival is both humbling and deeply fulfilling for all of us at SEHER. What began as a simple idea—to bring the world’s music closer to people in an open and inclusive cultural setting has today grown into a global celebration of harmony and shared human emotion. Udaipur, with its timeless beauty and warmth, has been the perfect home for this journey. As we mark this milestone, we look forward to welcoming artists and audiences from across the world to celebrate music in its purest, most joyful form.”
Over the years, the Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival has quietly evolved into one of India’s most distinctive cultural gatherings. Set against Udaipur’s iconic landscapes, the festival continues to be a place where traditions meet, cultures converse, and music speaks a universal language—one that needs no translation.
As VUWMF steps into its next decade, it remains a celebration not just of sound, but of stories, connections, and the enduring power of music to bring the world closer, one note at a time
