IndiGo, India’s preferred airline, concludes 2025 as a defining year in its journey towards becoming a truly global carrier. The year was marked by accelerated network expansion, the launch of long-haul operations, sustained passenger growth, international recognition, and important operational learnings that will shape the airline’s future trajectory.

Guided by its core customer promises of on-time performance, courteous and hassle-free service, affordable fares, an unparalleled network, and an unwavering commitment to safety, IndiGo expects to close calendar year 2025 by welcoming over 123 million customers, an increase of more than 10 million passengers compared to 2024. This milestone further reinforces IndiGo’s position among the Top 10 airlines globally.

While the operating environment posed industry-wide challenges, including a significant operational disruption between 3–5 December 2025, IndiGo acted swiftly to restore normal operations. The airline has issued a sincere apology to impacted customers and continues to strengthen its operational resilience while fully cooperating with the regulator-appointed committee.

2025 also marked a moment of national significance as IndiGo hosted the IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Delhi, welcoming the global aviation community and underscoring India’s growing prominence on the world aviation stage.

Across New Frontiers: Entering the Long-Haul Era

In line with its internationalisation strategy, IndiGo entered the long-haul segment with the launch of non-stop services connecting India to Manchester and Amsterdam, followed by Copenhagen and London. Over the year, the airline added 10 new international destinations and launched 30 international routes, significantly expanding global connectivity.

These services were enabled by the induction of wide-body Boeing 787-9 aircraft in partnership with Norse Atlantic Airways. Complementing the long-haul experience, IndiGo introduced complimentary hot meals on select international flights, reflecting the evolution of its onboard product.

The airline further expanded its footprint with new destinations including Seychelles, Krabi, Madinah, Fujairah, and Siem Reap, and led the resumption of direct flights between India and China with services to Guangzhou from Kolkata and Delhi. Looking ahead, IndiGo will launch non-stop services to Athens from 23 January 2026, marking the international debut of India’s first Airbus A321XLR.

Strength at Home: Deepening Domestic Connectivity

Domestic operations remained central to IndiGo’s strategy. The airline commenced operations as the launch carrier at Navi Mumbai International Airport, and at new airports in Purnea and Rewa. It also added Hindon, Adampur (Jalandhar), Kishangarh, and Bikaner to its network and is preparing for future operations from Noida International Airport (Jewar).

By year-end, IndiGo’s network expanded to 139 destinations, including 97 domestic and 42 international.

Powering Scale: Fleet, Products and Engagement

IndiGo reinforced its long-term growth outlook by doubling its Airbus A350-900 wide-body aircraft order to 60. The airline also celebrated one year of IndiGoStretch, its dual-class cabin product now available on 42 aircraft, and one year of BluChip, its loyalty programme, which has grown to over 9 million members.

Stronger Together: Partnerships and Alliances

IndiGo continued to deepen its global partnerships through expanded codeshare agreements with leading international carriers, enabling seamless connectivity across North America, Europe, and Asia, and strengthening its global value proposition.

Steady Operational Excellence

In 2025, IndiGo operated an average of over 2,200 flights per day, flying more than one million customers every three days, and transporting over 55,000 tonnes of cargo. The airline maintained industry-leading on-time performance for 10 out of 12 months, with safety remaining paramount.

IndiGo also signed an MoU with Bangalore International Airport Ltd. (BIAL) to develop world-class MRO infrastructure, contributing to a self-reliant and future-ready Indian aviation ecosystem.
