Mumbai, October 10th 2025: As India’s business landscape evolves, purpose-driven leadership is more critical than ever. Mehjabeen Taj Aalam, Chief Digital and Information Officer at Raychem RPG and an NMIMS SBM alumna, told MBA graduates, “The world truly hungers for clever minds with great hearts. This world needs more geniuses with humility.” As the Chief Guest, she addressed students across MBA (Law), MBA (Real Estate Management), MBA (Digital Transformation), MBA (Healthcare Management), MBA (Business Analytics), and MBA (Part-Time Social Entrepreneurship) at the convocation ceremony of SVKM’s NMIMS, School of Business Management, Mumbai.

Ms. Aalam urged students to pair ambition with purpose. “It doesn’t have to be grand. Your toolkit may differ, but your mission is the same. Build a better world. Make giving back part of your personal operating system, not just an annual update to save taxes,” she said

She likened workplaces to candy stores. “Walking into your workplace is like stepping into a candy store. You won’t always get to choose, but how you manage those relationships will define how far you go. Success is a team sport. Do not worry about who gets the credit,” she explained

Dr. Veena Vohra, Officiating Dean, SBM, highlighted the school’s achievements, transformative programs, and the continued evolution of its curriculum in line with the changing demands of industry and society. She said, “Our curriculum now seamlessly integrates AI, business transformation, sustainability, and analytics, preparing graduates to thrive in a world that values both competence and conscience.”

She further added, “As we celebrate the graduating class of 2023–25, we take immense pride in their accomplishments across programs, be it Business Analytics, Digital Transformation, Healthcare, Law, Real Estate, or Social Entrepreneurship. Each of these cohorts reflects NMIMS SBM’s enduring legacy of 44 years in management education, anchored in academic excellence, driven by industry relevance, and inspired by purpose. Our students continue to embody the values of this institution as they step into their professional journeys, responsible, future-ready, and committed to creating impact beyond themselves.”

Speaking to the students and looking ahead, Ms. Aalam said, “Each of you is a change-maker. Your knowledge will open doors, but your character will decide whether you are welcomed back. Build teams where everyone feels safe to speak up. Give without expecting anything in return. Go out not just to make a living, but to make a life”
