Dastaan-e-Akhtari is not merely a performance – it is a cultural celebration, honouring one of India’s greatest musical voices whose artistry continues to inspire generations.

This homage is supported by the Aalekh Foundation as our Cultural Outreach Partner. A Non-Profit Organization that for a decade has worked tirelessly towards Women Empowerment, Child education & Welfare, Social Equality and Sustainable Development. In joining us this evening, they extend their commitment to the arts and honour the legacy of one of our country’s earliest champions of women’s empowerment Begum Akhtar.

At Aalekh Foundation, women’s empowerment has always been at the heart of our work—through heritage, culture, and sustainability. Begum Akhtar was not only a legendary artist but also a symbol of resilience, grace, and the power of a woman’s voice at a time when few women found space on such stages. Supporting Dastaan-e-Akhtari is deeply meaningful for us, as it celebrates her artistry while also honouring the larger narrative of women breaking barriers and leaving behind timeless legacies.”— Dr. Rennie Joyy, Founder, Aalekh Foundation

The evening is in collaboration with Baarish & Sonchiraiya, and is conceptualised and produced by Excurators, who remain committed to creating experiential platforms that bring India’s cultural heritage to life.
