Bengaluru, Nov 21st: Sumadhura Group, one of South India’s most trusted real estate developers, has announced the completion of a 1.4-kilometre first-of-its-kind sustainable urban roadway in East Bengaluru—an infrastructure milestone designed to enhance mobility, safety, and environmental resilience for more than 5,000 families in the region. Developed under the Group’s Corporate Environmental Responsibility (CER) initiative, the upgraded stretch on Doddabbanahalli Road, off Whitefield–Hoskote Main Road, reflects Sumadhura’s commitment to building community-focused, eco-conscious urban infrastructure.

Stage picture

The upgraded roadway was inaugurated in the presence of Shri Aravind Limbavali, Former MLA–Mahadevapura; Smt. Manjula Limbavali, MLA–Mahadevapura; and Mr. Madhusudhan G, Chairman & Managing Director, Sumadhura Group.

Once a narrow, neglected stretch, the road has been transformed into a state-of-the-art two-way carriageway, dramatically improving connectivity and easing daily commutes. The redesigned corridor integrates advanced engineering, sustainable water management, and aesthetic enhancements to create a safer and more vibrant public space for pedestrians and vehicles alike.

A Model for Sustainable Urban Infrastructure

The revitalized roadway features:

  • Rainwater recharge pits to naturally replenish groundwater

  • Recharge trenches to safely redirect excess runoff and reduce urban flooding

  • Modern drainage and stormwater systems

  • Energy-efficient street lighting

  • Avenue plantations, green belts, and pedestrian seating zones

  • Benches, segregated waste bins, and freshly painted compound walls that elevate the visual appeal of the entire stretch

Designed with long-term community well-being in mind, the project combines sustainability with functionality and aesthetic value. Sumadhura Group will continue to maintain the corridor, ensuring consistent upkeep and longevity.

Leadership Perspective

Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Madhusudhan G, CMD, Sumadhura Group, shared:

“Our approach to urban infrastructure is rooted in sustainable growth and community-first development. Sumadhura has been shaping Whitefield for over two decades—long before it emerged as the vibrant hub it is today. Being early contributors to its growth, we take pride in building infrastructure that truly enhances residents’ lives.

This upgraded roadway, benefiting more than 5,000 families, is not just an infrastructure improvement—it is a reflection of our commitment to building greener, smarter, and more resilient communities. We haven’t just constructed a road; we’ve created a model for how urban development should evolve in Bengaluru. By aligning progress with environmental stewardship and long-term liveability, we are setting a new benchmark for community-first urban transformation.”

A Step Toward a Greener, More Connected Bengaluru

This initiative marks a major step toward building a more accessible, sustainable, and community-centric urban environment—benefiting residents today and supporting Bengaluru’s broader vision for the future.
