New Delhi, Jan 9: On Tuesday, Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang, ceremonially sent off the Sikkim State Youth Contingent selected to participate in the National Round of the National Youth Festival, “Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026”, a prestigious national platform that brings together young leaders from across the country.

Addressing the gathering, the  Chief Minister expressed his pride and honour in interacting with the selected youth leaders. He highlighted that it is a moment of great achievement for the State of Sikkim, as its youth representatives have been selected from among more than 50 lakh participants nationwide. The Sikkim delegation comprises fifty-one  youth participants, accompanied by six official escorts, who will represent the State at the national level.

The  Chief Minister placed on record his sincere appreciation to Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya Ji,  Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, for his encouragement and continued support in providing such an inspiring opportunity for the youth of the nation. He remarked that this initiative reflects the Government of India’s strong commitment towards empowering young minds and actively engaging them in shaping the vision of a Viksit Bharat.

Interacting with the youth leaders, Shri Prem Singh Tamang noted that they embody the aspirations, creativity, and leadership potential of Sikkim. He expressed confidence that the contingent would uphold the pride of the State and contribute meaningfully to the national dialogue by presenting innovative ideas before the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Ji.

The  Chief Minister encouraged the youth to remain confident, disciplined, and focused, and to uphold the values of hard work, integrity, and inclusiveness. He emphasized that such national platforms play a crucial role in nurturing leadership qualities and strengthening the role of youth as active partners in nation-building.

Concluding his address, Shri Prem Singh Tamang conveyed his best wishes to the entire contingent for a successful and enriching participation. He reaffirmed the Government of Sikkim’s firm commitment to supporting and empowering the youth as they move forward to shape the future of the nation. He also expressed sincere appreciation for the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim, for its diligent efforts and effective coordination in the successful follow-up and implementation of the programme.
