Dharashiv Mumbai Dec 15:- Every year, is observed in India as National Energy Conservation Day. Energy is a vital driver of the country’s economic and industrial growth. However, with rapid population growth, expanding industrial activity, and evolving lifestyles, energy demand is rising at an alarming rate. In this context, energy conservation, efficient energy use, and the promotion of environmentally sustainable green energy have become an urgent necessity. Fossil fuels, such as coal, petroleum, and natural gas are finite resources, and their combustion results in significant carbon emissions. Consequently, the transition to sustainable, clean, and eco-friendly energy alternatives is no longer optional but essential.

Dharashiv’s Green Energy Revolution;

Blessed with strong wind potential and abundant sunshine, Dharashiv district is fast emerging as a hub for renewable energy development. Several leading companies have invested in wind and solar power projects across the region, many of which are already operational and generating substantial amounts of electricity. These projects are creating wide-ranging benefits, providing farmers with reliable additional income, generating local employment, strengthening infrastructure, and significantly accelerating the district’s overall development trajectory.

Speaking on the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day, Akshay Hiranandani, CEO of Serentica Renewables, highlighted “India’s clean energy transition is entering a pivotal phase where the focus is shifting from simply adding renewable capacity to ensuring that clean power is delivered reliably, 24/7. Maharashtra with its solar and wind potential can play a significant role in India’s ambitious target to reach 500 GW by 2030 while meeting round the clock requirements of customers.

There is both political and administrative will to support the sector in Maharashtra. Recent progressive policies such as rules around NA for renewable projects will give tremendous impetus to the sector. Next impetus of growth will come from policies that balance landowners requirement and renewable growth. One such suggestion is guidelines for compensation for 33 kV put up by IPPs. Serentica is committed to help Maharashtra reclaim its position to be amongst top 3 states in wind and gain national share in solar.

On this occasion, senior environmental expert Atul Deulgaonkar categorically stated that claims suggesting wind power projects reduce rainfall or cause environmental damage are completely unfounded. Studies conducted in Satara district have demonstrated that wind turbines have no adverse impact on the environment. He explained that cloud formations typically occur at altitudes of around one kilometre, while the height of wind turbines is significantly lower. As a result, wind turbines do not affect rainfall patterns or local climatic conditions in any manner.

Dharashiv  At the Heart of India’s Green Energy Future;

Dharashiv district is steadily transitioning from conventional energy systems to clean, sustainable, and environmentally responsible power generation. The growing presence of wind and solar power projects in the region is not only accelerating local development but also giving fresh momentum to Maharashtra’s green energy ambitions. With abundant natural resources, favourable geography, and increasing investments in renewable energy, Dharashiv holds immense potential to emerge as one of the state’s leading green energy hubs in the coming years. As India enters a new era of clean energy, the district is taking confident and decisive steps, positioning itself to play a pivotal role in shaping a sustainable energy future.
