Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 8:- The Trauma Management Team of KIMSHEALTH, in association with the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) and the Society of Emergency Medicine India (SEMI), Kerala Chapter, organised a two-day academic and clinical conference on trauma care titled ‘RESUS X 2025  Trauma Track’. The event included hands-on workshops and a Continuing Medical Education  session.

The conference brought together around 150 participants, including eminent experts, practitioners, and healthcare professionals from across the country, aimed at improving trauma outcomes and fostering collaborative teamwork.

In his inaugural address, Dr. M.I. Sahadulla, Chairman and Managing Director, KIMSHEALTH, highlighted that trauma accounts for a significant number of deaths, especially among the productive age group, and emphasized that effective trauma management begins with a systematic approach to assessment and specialist treatment. He reaffirmed KIMSHEALTH’s commitment to timely interventions and improved patient outcomes through its state-of-the-art facilities and dedicated multidisciplinary trauma management team.

Addressing the gathering during the keynote session, Dr. M.C. Misra, Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences and Technology, Jaipur, noted that deaths and injuries from automobile accidents are a growing public health concern in India. He stressed the importance of basic life support skills among first responders to ensure critical life-saving interventions can be administered even before hospital arrival.

Dr. Firoz Khan M.H., Senior Consultant, Department of General and Minimally Invasive Surgery, KIMSHEALTH, welcomed the participants. Dr. Renjin R.P., Secretary, ASI Kerala, and Dr. Shameem K.U., Consultant, Department of Emergency Medicine, KIMSHEALTH, offered felicitations, while Dr. Muhammed Nazeer, Senior Consultant, Department of Orthopedics, KIMSHEALTH, proposed the vote of thanks.
