BIOFACH INDIA 2026: A New Gateway for India’s Organic Farming and Agri Export Growth

Greater Noida, Aug 7: India’s organic agriculture sector is gaining global attention as the country looks to expand its footprint in the international organic market through BIOFACH INDIA 2026, a platform aimed at connecting Indian farmers, exporters, businesses, and global buyers.

Organised by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with Nuernberg Messe India, the three-day event brings together stakeholders from the organic, natural, and sustainable food sectors at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida.

The exhibition plays an important role in promoting India’s organic products globally by providing farmers, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), startups, and exporters with opportunities to connect directly with international markets. It also helps showcase India’s diverse agricultural strengths, including organic cereals, pulses, millets, spices, tea, coffee, fruits, vegetables, herbs, medicinal plants, and value-added food products.

With growing worldwide demand for chemical-free, sustainable, and traceable food products, India’s organic sector has significant potential to increase agricultural exports and create new income opportunities for farmers. Events like BIOFACH INDIA help Indian producers understand global quality standards, improve market access, and build partnerships with international buyers.

The exhibition features participation from more than 200 companies, including over 60 exhibitors under the APEDA Pavilion, representing organic enterprises from different regions of the country. The showcase highlights India’s diverse agro-climatic conditions and the growing adoption of sustainable farming practices.

APEDA has also facilitated meetings between Indian exporters and more than 35 international buyers from 13 countries, including Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Mongolia, and Egypt. These buyer-seller interactions are expected to encourage new export agreements and strengthen India’s position in the global organic supply chain.

The event also focuses on important areas such as organic certification, farm-to-market traceability, sustainability, food safety standards, and changing consumer preferences. These discussions help farmers and businesses adapt to international requirements and improve the competitiveness of Indian agricultural products.

The growth of organic farming can provide multiple benefits to India’s agriculture sector by promoting sustainable cultivation methods, improving soil health, reducing dependence on chemical inputs, and creating opportunities for higher-value agricultural exports. It can also support rural employment, encourage entrepreneurship, and help small farmers access premium global markets.

Government officials said that strengthening the organic ecosystem is essential for increasing farmers’ income, enhancing India’s agricultural exports, and establishing the country as a reliable supplier of quality organic products worldwide.

BIOFACH INDIA 2026 represents a major step towards building a stronger organic value chain in India by linking farmers with global markets and accelerating the growth of sustainable agriculture.
