Birla Opus Paints, housed under Aditya Birla Group’s Grasim Industries, for the second consecutive year, served as the presenting partner for Art Mumbai 2025, a dynamic celebration of art which was held from November 13th to 16th at Mumbai’s iconic Mahalaxmi Racecourse. This year’s fair captivated art enthusiasts, collectors, and critics alike, showcasing nearly 2,000 artworks from an impressive lineup of 82 exhibitors. This year, the fair further cemented its position as a cultural movement, spotlighting both established and emerging talents across various mediums, including a groundbreaking Sculpture Park dedicated to pioneering women artists.

Birla Opus Paints’ collaboration with Art Mumbai 2025 underscored its deep-rooted commitment to fostering artistic expression and community engagement through the transformative power of colour. Building on the success of last year, Birla Opus Paints further enriched the fair experience with immersive activations, including the thoughtfully curated Birla Opus Lounge. This exclusive space presented ‘Chromatic Conversations’, exploring the profound relationship between colour, form, and human experience. Inspired by vivid geometries, the lounge highlighted the interplay of three primordial colours – red, blue, and yellow, with each representing the body, mind, and spirit respectively design by Divya Thakur. This architectural triad shaped a dialogue between the seen and the felt, inviting attendees to experience the meditative and enlivening impact of colour.
Beyond the lounge, under the theme #WallsThatWitnessArt, Birla Opus Paints engaged visitors with several interactive initiatives designed for creativity. The concept #WallsThatWitnessArt is a reminder that when colour is set free, it becomes a language of its own. Throughout the fair, the space drew people in not for what it displayed, but for what it allowed them to discover within themselves. Birla Opus Paints created a space where walls were no longer boundaries but invitations.
The most talked about spot at Art Mumbai was the a 50ft wide canvas wall installed by Birla Opus as an art engagement zone, where people could paint or engage in fun graffiti art using Birla Opus Aero spray paints. Here, visitors were encouraged to unleash their creativity on the canvas adorned with outline drawings of Mumbai’s landmarks, celebrating the essence and spirit of this great city which resulted in a dynamic, collaborative piece of public art. The engagement became an instinctive expression of art, allowing creativity to flow naturally. Each gesture, each shade, each unexpected trail of colour revealed something true about the people who stepped up to paint. What emerged was more than an artwork. It was a collective pulse.
Other popular highlights were the two distinctive installations, including the ‘Living Canvas’ where attendees could playfully step into the frame of iconic artworks and a mirror column aptly titled ‘Currently Under Interpretation’ denoting self-reflection of our profound and ever-evolving lives.
Srikanth SK, Head of Consumer Experience at Birla Opus Paints, remarked, “Our continued partnership with Art Mumbai is a testament to our belief that colour is more than just a shade, it is a catalyst for creation, a medium for storytelling, and a foundation for community. Witnessing the incredible talent and passion at Art Mumbai 2025 and seeing attendees engage so enthusiastically with our interactive installations like the Birla Opus Lounge and Paint Post with Opus, truly reinforced the vital role our paints play in bringing artistic visions to life. We are proud to support a platform that champions South Asian art and inspires countless individuals.”
Birla Opus Paints remains dedicated to cultivating cultural dialogue and supporting platforms that elevate art and design. The resounding success of Art Mumbai 2025, marked by its expanded scope, diverse programming, and vibrant atmosphere, reaffirms the importance of such initiatives in bridging heritage with contemporary innovation. Birla Opus Paints looks forward to continuing its journey of inspiring creativity and celebrating art in all its magnificent forms.
